Day ?? - Volcanic Ash

Annie and I have been travelling all around Europe for the past week, and we are feeling the full extent of volcanic ash everywhere!!!! We were scheduled to take a flight from Prague to Dublin on Saturday morning, but after a 13+ hour overnight bus ride from Prague to Amsterdam, I am now sitting on a bus to Brussels and she is waiting in Amsterdam for another 12 hours to get a bus to London after her flight from Amsterdam to Belfast was cancelled. If you’re stressed just reading that, imagine how we’ve felt trying to figure it all out!! Having a couple extra days to spend together and enjoy Prague was fun, but the fact that it was overshadowed by travel woes made the time at least marginally less enjoyable. From here…I am staying in Brussels until Wednesday when the flight that I booked to Glasgow hopefully leaves and Annie will be finding her way from London to Belfast by land and by sea. Since the volcano is still erupting, the ash situation is very uncertain, so I may end up staying in Brussels for more of the week and myself taking a bus to London and on to Dublin. At this point, I am just hoping and praying that the situation has cleared up enough by next Monday for me to fly home because I am really ready to be there now!! I am thankful at the moment that I am at least headed towards my European home where I can have a couple days to worry a little less and spend more time with friends there. More soon...

  1. Hey - been thinking about you so much and telling everyone about my niece in Europe and all her travails. I DO hope you will get to come home at some point. I mean I know you have liked Brussels, but really, this is getting ridiculous. You don't have to LIVE there. Love you and can't wait to see you - hopefully soon. Stop erupting!!! (not you, the volcano)
